Anyone can learn to play the piano. It's not magic, or a gift from the Muses, or something you're just "born with." It's a skill that develops over time through structured learning and practice. That doesn't mean it's easy. Far from it! Piano is one of the most difficult instruments to learn, with huge barriers to entry, but for anyone who is willing to put in the time and effort, it's also one of the most rewarding instruments to learn.
Unfortunately, most people who set out to learn face huge roadblocks on their journey. Music education faces tremendous structural and financial barriers, especially when it comes to playing the piano. Whether it's a teacher insisting that you can't start unless you buy a grand piano, or the ongoing weekly cost of hiring a teacher, many people find it to be forever out of reach.
And here's the thing. As a piano teacher, I HATE THIS. I want everyone who WANTS to learn to have access. So, I'm making this website in my free time, to make the basic foundations of this education available to anyone who wants it. All you need is an internet connection and a basic keyboard of some kind. Go to Goodwill and pick up a janky $10 keyboard that barely works. I won't judge you. :)
Will this make you a world-renowned classical performer? lol, no. But seeking out a career as a classical performer is a little like saying you want to be a blacksmith. It's great that people are out there maintaining these historical skills, but that's exactly what they are. Historical reenactments.
In the real world, we don't need to know how to be a blacksmith if we want to build some cool shit in our free time. We just need to know where to buy the nails and how to swing a hammer. So that's what I'm here to teach you.
